About the project

A fund built on evidence

PRIME Q is being built in the reverse of the usual order. Evidence first: the scale of demand, the shape of the gap, the strategy's parameters and the economics of the model. The product is designed on top of those. The goal is a single one: to launch Poland's first fully systematic fund, and to get it right the first time.

Where this came from

The question, asked backwards

Most funds are born like this: someone has a strategy, looks for capital, and builds a story around it. We reversed the order. First we establish how large the real demand is, what exactly the gap in the market consists of, and what parameters the strategy has to meet, and then we design the product around those answers.

We run the project as an advisory thesis on an MBA at Kozminski University. That imposes a discipline a commercial start-up usually skips: every number has a source, every recommendation has a decision threshold, and the research method is assessed independently. For an investor that is a concrete benefit: the assumptions the fund rests on are written down and can be checked.

This site is the practical consequence. The survey is not a sales tool, it is part of the demand research. The answers feed straight into the product's parameters: liquidity, entry threshold, reporting scope and fee structure.

Method

Eight questions we have to answer

The project is split into analytical packages. Each one ends in a measurable result and a design decision, not an opinion.

P1

Demand

How large is the accessible capital, and which segment is the starting point?

P2

The gap

What exactly is our difference from today's offer, and how do we hold it?

P3

Strategy

What does the investment concept achieve out of sample, and what is its capacity?

P4

Product

Which fund parameters match the needs of the segment we researched?

P5

Regulation

Which legal route is fastest and cheapest at this scale?

P6

Operations

What is the minimum operating and technology model needed to start?

P7

Capital

How and how fast do we raise it, and who comes in first?

P8

Economics

At what level of assets does the model close, and what margin is left?

A design constraint

Strategy capacity sets the size of the fund

We design around this constraint from the start rather than discovering it at the end. Strategy capacity has to exceed, with room to spare, the level of assets that covers the management company's costs. It is capacity, not sales ambition, that sets the ceiling on the capital the fund will take. That is why we talk about closing the fund to new subscriptions before it has even opened.
